Rising prospect Venkatesh Iyer has been given the chance to make his ODI debut against South Africa on Wednesday, only 2 months after getting his first-ever start for India in the shortest version during the home series versus New Zealand.

Venkatesh Iyer made his initial move towards prominence in the IPL 2021. He was among the main builders of KKR’s recovery in the previous season, scoring 370 runs at a strike rate of 128.47 in ten games. Iyer earned his IPL debut in the UAE leg of the 2021 competition.

In the 2nd leg of last year’s premier event, his beginning fireworks surprised all the teams. T After starting the 2nd leg in 2nd place in the points table, the two-time champions produced an incredible comeback in the 2nd leg and advanced to the finals, where they were defeated by Chennai Super Kings.

Going to the match, South Africa has won the toss and will bat first. The Indian bowling attack, led by Jasprit Bumrah, would be aiming to allow the ball to talk.
