StumpsandBails looks at Top 5 Players Who Went From CSK To MI :

#5 Parthiv Patel

Parthiv Patel’s IPL sojourn started with CSK in 2008. He played for CSK in the first 3 seasons. Patel formed a solid opening pair with Matthew Hayden in the opening two editions. CSK released Patel in 2011 and he started playing for other teams. MI acquired Patel in 2015 and he was part of 2 title-winning campaigns for them. Patel represented RCB from 2018-20.

#4 Jacob Oram

The big burly New Zealand allrounder, Jacob Oram first plied trades with CSK. Oram couldn’t make much of an impact with the men in yellow. MI later picked him in the 2013 auctions. He played the first game that season and was later benched for the whole season.

#3 Michael Hussey

CSK picked Michael Hussey in 2008 auctions. He was a vital member of the CSK setup. Hussey played a key role in their championship win in 2011. His partnership with Vijay was one of the main reasons behind CSK’s success. Hussey in fact top-scored in 2013 with 733 runs. But strangely CSK didn’t retain him in the 2014 auctions. MI picked him in 2014 but he had a flop season for them scoring 209 runs at an average of 23.22

#2 Tim Southee

CSK picked Tim Southee in 2011. Southee wasn’t a great bowler back then as we know him to be now. He didn’t have a great season with CSK and they released him the very next season. Southee stayed off the radar in the IPL. MI finally picked him in 2016 and he represented them for 2 seasons. Southee didn’t have a great season with them either.

#1 Thisara Perera

CSK bid for Thisara Perera in 2010 IPL auctions. He played just a single game for them. CSK released Perera the very next season. The now-defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala acquired him a year later. But they too released him after a disappointing showing. MI picked him a year later and he didn’t make any significant contributions for them either.
