Tim Paine Said Coronavirus Threat Bigger Than Cricket

“The Virus Should Be Taken Seriously”:

Australian Test captain Tim Paine has commented upon the current situation of cricket due to the coronavirus threat. He said the threat of the deadly virus is bigger than the game of cricket.

He opined that the threat should be taken seriously and it is correct to suspend almost all the cricket matches as a precaution to stop the spreading of the virus.

Paine posted a video message on his Twitter account in which he says,” “As hard as it is for all cricketers at the moment I think it is time that we take a break.

I know it’s even harder this time of year when you’ve got finals and trophies are on the line and it’s all there to be won but this is bigger than us, bigger than the game of cricket but it’s something that needs to be taken very seriously.”

He also said, “I hope that we’re all back playing the game we love and going about our lives the way we want to as soon as possible but in the meantime, please take care of yourself, take care of others and let’s ride this out together.”

Australian cricket action has suffered a big blow as a consequence of the virus outbreak. Some of its major tournaments like the three-ODI series against New Zealand, the upcoming three-T20 International series in New Zealand, starting from March 24 and Sheffield Shield competition were all disrupted.

Sachin Tendulkar Educates About What To Do In The Present Health Crisis Situation:

Meanwhile, the legendary Sachin Tendulkar has also joined the sports fraternity in creating awareness about the things one should do during the present health crisis situation.

He posted a video on his Twitter saying, We are all worried due to coronavirus. There are a few things which I can keep in mind like stay away from public places as it can spread from one person to others, stay away from people with symptoms of flu.

“See a doctor if you show symptoms or call the helpline number, wash hands with soap as many times as possible in flowing water and don’t go by hearsay. It can happen to anybody and don’t ignore it,” he added.

”By understanding how it spreads we can defeat it,” added the batting great, who joined WHO’s #SafeHandsChallenge to promote the importance of washing hands amid the coronavirus outbreak.
