Three Greatest Records Of MS Dhoni In Cricket

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni has been away from over 10 months from all forms of professional cricket. Since the 2019 World Cup, the 38-year-old has played no competitive game. After the four-year tour, he first missed West Indies and skipped the whole home season. Dhoni was confirmed in March to be a member of the Chennai Super Kings camp before the IPL 2020 but has been extended now.

Dhoni has been an active player since he returned to CSK and could come back in IPL 2020, based on his form. While fans wait for Dhoni to return to play, we have seen three of Dhoni’s best achievements when they return to competitive cricket.

ODI Runs Of MS Dhoni In International Cricket:

Dhoni is currently on the fifth position of the list with the most runs in India with 10773 runs on ODI cricket. The right-handed batsman could very well end his career as the third-highest run-scorer as he is just 116 runs short of the total of Rahul Dravid, which is around 10889 runs. In particular, Master Balster Sachin Tendulkar has been on the list, who scored 18426 in cricket 50-over.

Second Most Capped Indian Player In T20Is:

Dhoni is just two caps short of becoming just the second Indian player in the 100 T20 World Cups. He has led Team India in T20 World Cup so far. Rohit Sharma, who made a Dhoni debut, has 108 T20I caps at the top of the list. Dhoni and Virat Kohli (82 caps of T20I) support him. If Dhoni plays Australia’s T20 World Cup, then this year will be the milestone.

Overall, Shoaib Malik, from Pakistan, who has played 113 T20I so far, is at the top of the list. He did not retire from the cricket T20I and he looks likely to join the Twin T20 World Cups scheduled for 2020 and 2021.

200 IPL Caps:

For IPL Chennai Super Kings, Dhoni is the 2nd most capped player, with just 10 caps short of 200 IPL matches. He should have played 200 IPL matches, in normal conditions, but because of the coronavirus pandemic, the league was postponed. His IPL teammate Suresh Raina, 193 caps in front of Dhoni, has the record.
