Thieves Enter Ricky Ponting’s House, Steals His Car

Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting has found himself in a state of shock after being targeted by thieves. On Friday night, the mischief bunch had stormed into the former cricketer’s home and managed to steal his car, which was parked in the driveway. It has been reported that the police took charge on an immediate basis thereafter.

Sources reveal that investigations were carried out to recover the car. After the police took control of the situation and jumped into action, the car was recovered from the Camberwell area in Melbourne. The car was being driven irresponsibly through the city. Two men were seen trying their best to escape from the police. As per reports which came out in channel 7 news, the police are still looking out for the suspects.

Ricky Ponting’s view on Australia’s defeat to India:

Ricky Ponting was among the many cricketing experts who believed that India will be trashed by Australia 4-0 after India were bowled out for 36 in the second innings of the first Test. Australia raced to an 8-wicket win in the pink ball Test at Adelaide. Ponting had really talked up Australia then and expected them to roll over India. But India’s fightback and the eventual series loss to the visiting Indian team came as a shock to Ponting. He was quoted saying, “I’m quite shocked that Australia weren’t quite good enough to win this series. The cold hard facts of it are pretty much that was the India A team that played this Test match and still won.”

He reckoned that it wasn’t even India’s second-string team with all the key players missing but Australia still lost to them. Ponting felt that Australia had no business in letting India dominate the series the way they did. He was critical in his assessment of the batting lineup which barring Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne failed to deliver. He opined that “It’s probably not even (India’s) second-picked team because you think of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ishant Sharma and those guys who didn’t even make it out here. Rohit Sharma turns up for the last two Test matches only.”

It is quite clear that not many Australian legends have been able to digest the fact that a young inexperienced Indian team has beaten them at their home.
