The 3 Flop Players of RCB In IPL 2019 – Who Can Help Them Win The Title In 2020 ?

For the past 12 years, fans have had high expectations from RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore). Virat Kohli is one of the reasons for them.

Though RCB’s squad has highly talented players and all-rounders, the sad story is that every year they have not clicked as a team. The team has never won an IPL title in the past 12 seasons.

It could be a different year for RCB in 2020. But it all depends on the management’s decision. Some flop players in the last season’s squad performed well in the international and domestic games. They may, in fact, help the team to turn the tables in next season.

Now whether the Bengaluru-based franchise will retain them after their failure in the previous season has to be seen. From the last season, here are 3 such flops, who could help RCB win a title in the next season.

1. Shimron Hetmyer:

Shimron Hetmyer is an explosive West Indian batsman. RCB fans had expected a lot from him in 2018. His team was forced to drop Hetmyer out only after four games because he failed to score in them. The glimpses of Hetmyer’s brilliance were seen when he came up with a 74-run knock in RCB’s final game but that did not do any justice to his high price of Rs 4 crores.

Since then, there has been an improvement in his game. He is one of the squad members of the West Indies for the T20 World Cup. He chipped in with cameos in several games that helped West Indies reach good totals.

 2. Shivam Dube:

Shivam Dube’s lack of experience is the only reason for his failure in IPL 2018. He entered into the squad with the reputation of being a hard hitter, a quality which fetched Dube Rs 5 crores. But he got dropped after a few games because of his inability to perform well.

The 26-year-old has gained a considerable amount of experience from domestic cricket and India-A games. He played a major part in Mumbai reaching the quarter-finals of Vijay Hazare trophy as he scored 177 runs in 5 games. He got a maiden India call-up.

3. Washington Sundar:

In IPL 2017, Washington Sundar impressed everyone with the role of a power-play bowler. His overall economy was just 6.16, which helped him earn a call from India’s international T20 team. Sundar, however, is very talented and has shown that he can perform at the highest level.
