Due to a sore back and a swollen hamstring, Virat Kohli and Ajnkya Rahane did not play in the practice match. However, Inzamam-ul-Haq reminded out that India has a lot of options under its belt, so these injuries may not be a big deal.

He also stated that the squad was challenged with a similar circumstance in Australia, however, that they were able to overcome it with the support of the young players who shown tremendous spirit on the field.

India faced a similar situation in Australia as well but they did not panic at all: Inzamam-ul-Haq

“Suryakumar Yadav and Prithvi Shaw, who was doing well in Sri Lanka, will now fly to England. I don’t think Team India will be too worried though over injuries. They faced a similar situation in Australia as well but they did not panic at all. The youngsters rose to the occasion and displayed great maturity as if they had been playing for many years,” Inzamam-ul-Haq told on his YouTube channel.

The Indian squad, which includes a number of young players, travelled to Sri Lanka for a white ball series, which was coached by Rahul Dravid. They grabbed the lead in the T20I series despite winning the ODI series. Over the ages, it has been noticed that India has a high bench strength, which has given selectors difficulty.

Rahul Dravid has shaped the fortunes of so many young people like the coach of the under-19 teams. Inzamam-ul-Haq emphasized the significance of having a strong bench and complimented Rahul Dravid for developing and mentoring young players.
