Team India Records Pakistan Never Be Able To Break: Cricket fans are keenly awaiting the high-voltage clash between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup. It will be the first match post India’s loss to Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2021. The win over India in the T20 World Cup charged up Pakistani fans. They had a forgettable record in all World Cups against India prior to the win. Despite them notching up a win, the overall results still favor India.
We look at a few Team India records that Pakistan won’t be able to break:
#5 Successive Test series wins in Australia
India became the first Asian team to win a series in Australia in 2018-19. They went on to repeat the feat in 2020-21. No other Asian side has won even a single Test series. Pakistan despite boasting of solid names in the 90s failed to win a Test series down under. It will be asking a lot for them to win successive series in Australia.
#4 200+ totals in T20Is
There is no denying the fact that Pakistan is one of the most formidable T20I sides in the world. They narrowly lost out on World Cup in the first edition while going on to win the trophy in 2009. Pakistan has more or less followed the same template over the years to cement its T20I status.
It is this approach that has cost them games in conditions that are alien to them. They have not been able to consistently post totals in excess of 200 as compared to their arch-rivals. India is on top of the charts with 21 200+ totals while Pakistan has just posted 10 totals in excess of 200.
#3 Test wins at home
This is one record that is quite farfetched for Pakistan to break. India has been the team to beat at home since the turn of the 21st century. They have hardly dropped a series since 2012-13. India has won 112 Tests at home as compared to Pakistan’s 60. To add to Pakistan’s woes they were deprived of home games for a good part of a decade. It looks unlikely that they will surpass India in this regard.
#2 Appearances in ICC knockout games
India is one of the most consistent teams when it comes to ICC tournaments. The team turned a new leaf, especially under Sourav Ganguly. They won 4 ICC titles in 13 years. But it is their consistency in the ICC tournaments that stands out. They make it to the knockouts of every ICC tournament.
Their losses in knockout games are highlighted but their run to these games goes missing. India has made 26 appearances in the knockouts, while Pakistan has just 18 to their credit.
#1 The World Cup Record
India has an unbelievable record against their subcontinental neighbours in the World Cups across formats. They have a clean slate in the ODI format with 7 wins in 7 meetings. India had an outstanding record in the T20I World Cups too. Their near-perfect World Cup record suffered a blip when they lost to Pakistan in the last T20 World Cup. They still boast of having a 12-1 record in World Cups against Pakistan with 12 of them coming in succession.
