Team India Aims To Clinch Sri Lanka’s ODI Series

Prithvi Shaw, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav, India’s new batsmen, will have another opportunity to shine in the second One-Day International versus Sri Lanka on Tuesday at the R Premadasa Stadium. Team India Aims To Clinch Sri Lanka In ODI Series.

Team India will aim to stamp authority over Sri Lanka in second ODI

Owing to explosives from the bats of Shaw 43 (22) and Kishan 59 ( 42), and captain Shikhar Dhawan’s leadership, India reached the 262-run target in the 37th over itself, on route to a seven-wicket triumph in the first ODI on Sunday. Despite Sri Lanka’s poor bowling assault, Shaw and Kishan, who was making his debut, distinguished out for their daring attitude, going for their strokes from the first ball itself.

Shaw and Kishan are really not sure if they’ll make the India XI for the T20 World Cup in the UAE in October-November, and they’re only in Sri Lanka while Virat Kohli and his team are in England preparing for the Test series against the hosts.

Kuldeep And Chahal Are Good Prospects For India

While their outstanding performance underlines India’s current excellent depth of talent in white-ball cricket, it has also sparked a fresh discussion. The manner in which this pair attacked the opposition was in line with the expectations of modern-day limited-overs cricket, a model that England has followed since its World Cup loss in 2015. Both will put pressure on the older batters in the side if they continue to sparkle in Sri Lanka, displaying a new, aggressive attitude to batting in white-ball cricket.

The comeback to the Indian side of ‘Kulcha,’ the leg-spin duo of Bowlers Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, are also a good prospect for India. Both bowled combined, taking 4 wickets together for the first time since the England World Cup 2019 at Edgbaston.

“I’m very happy that we both got to play together after quite some time. I think we’re comfortable with each other and back each other. Whenever it is needed on the field, I tell him something or he tells me things. Our bonding is good. Maybe because we’re so comfortable with each other, it shows on the ground. Our performance was quite good, and the way we did well, playing together after so long, was good for the team,” Kuldeep said.

Kuldeep also added it would “be nicer if people talk about the times when I took wickets too.” “Sometimes, you get hit for runs, but other times you get wickets too”.
