Do Taliban Have Any Objections To Afghanistan Cricketers
The ICC, on the other hand, has been in contact with the Afghanistan C
ricket Board (ACB) and is receiving frequent reports on events in Kabul. The Taliban stormed the capital and seized power, forcing the country’s politicians to escape.
According to a source, the ICC is keeping an eye on the situation in Kabul and will keep in touch with ACB authorities. The current scenario has expressed concern about Afghanistan’s inclusion in the ICC T20 World Cup, which begins on October 17 in the UAE.
Afghanistan Team will return to Kabul for training in the near future
Due to the present scenario, Afghanistan team media manager Hikmat Hasan recently stated that the group will compete in the global event. It was also stated that the squad will return to Kabul for training in the near future. Afghanistan is also supposed to face Pakistan in a three-match One-Day International series in Sri Lanka the following month, however, this series is also in question.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is now in the process of deciding on a site for a tri-series with the West Indies and Australia. The scheduled series will be contested in T20 form and will serve as a warm-up for the next World Cup. In terms of the Taliban occupation, the Taliban has earlier said that it has no objections to cricket or its players.
There are some sources of worry for the ACB about the Afghanistan women’s squad, which just received yearly contracts for 25 players. Aside from that, changes in the government have occurred, which may re-attract the ICC’s interest.
