Having made his Test debut against West Indies at home last year, Shaw had almost cemented his place at the top of the order on the back of a ‘Man of the Series‘ performance in the two-match series. Shaw had scored 237 runs at an average of 118.50 and a strike rate of 94.04 including one century and half-century each.
While he gave glimpses of being a long-term option at the top of the order, Shaw injured his ankle during a pre-series warm-up match in Australia to be eventually ruled out of the series.
Playing a full season of the Indian Premier League for Delhi Capitals earlier this year, it seemed as if Shaw would regain his Test spot on the back of playing First-class cricket. However, the teenager was subsequently suspended after a banned substance was found in his blood sample.
In what seems to be a piece of relieving news for Shaw’s fans, he will now be seen training with World No. 3 Badminton player PV Sindhu. Sources close to Shaw have confirmed that his team has been in contact with Sindhu and the duo will train together.

“The idea is to improve his [Prithvi Shaw’s] overall fitness and agility as a fielder. We expect Prithvi to improve his flexibility as a fielder and also enhance his endurance power to play long innings,” – The source was quoted as saying.
