During the 2nd T20 between Australia and Pakistan, Aussie ex-captain Steve Smith played an anchoring role for the side and scored a match-winning knock of 80 runs in just 51 balls which included 11 fours and a six.
At the 2nd T20 match at Manuka Oval in Canberra, Pakistan had posted a total of 150 runs with the loss of six wickets in the first innings. Australia’s openers Warner and Finch opened the innings on a high but were unable to make it big. Amir cleaned Warner, and Finch had to depart after a stunning catch from Babar Azam.
Then, Smith and Ben McDermott had a partnership of 58 runs in 41 balls, which kept the team in a commanding position. Imad Wasim trapped Ben on 21, and then Smith has reached his fifty in 36 balls.
Ashton Turner played a few dot balls at the end, and Smith completed his duty and stayed unbeaten on 80 take his side home.
Well played S.Smith tonite a class above.👏👏

That was a responsible and match winning innings by @stevesmith49. I think India can follow the same approach. Start hammering from the openers then there is Kohli to do what Smith has done in this match with @ShreyasIyer15 at 4. #AUSvPAK

A Special innings on a Special day. Yeah! a Special Birthday gift for #KingKohli from #SublimeSmith. From now onwards, don't even dare to say, 'But, but, he can't play T20's' 🙂 #AUSvPAK #SteveSmith #ViratKohli pic.twitter.com/QzmBUWGTYT

Another head-shaking knock by Steve Smith, unbeaten 80 off 51 balls to glide #Australia to a 7-wicket T20 win over @TheRealPCB in Canberra. Full of preposterous shotmaking and immaculate piercing of the gaps. A wondrous sight in full flight. #AUSvPAK

Babar Azam is so unfortunate!
He is, hands down, the best batsman of his team captaining an under-performing team but he will still get the stick because some biased journalists on prime time television and social media will call him 'selfish'. #AUSvPAK

Analyze golden run of Pakistan in T20s. Were everytime batsmen reason for wins? Five T20 specialist bowlers were main reason behind being number one in T20 coz 🇵🇰's bowling-unit use to be successful majority times in knocking out opposition 10/10. DECLINE WITH THE BALL!🏏#AUSvPAK

Masterclass knock from Steve Smith take Aussies home.
Once again poor batting let Pakistan down, need improvement. Hard luck, better luck for next. #AUSvPAK— Fazal Aslam – Fazi 🇵🇰 (@Faxal_Aslam) November 5, 2019
