SS Vs ST match highlights: Sydney Sixers maintained their top spot with a comprehensive win by 15 runs over Sydney Thunder on Wednesday in WBBL 2022.
They managed to restrict the Thunder side for 148 to claim their sixth victory in the tournament to remain on top.
Earlier, Ashleigh Gardner starred with the bat as she guided her team to 163 with her 53-run knock.

Opting to bat, the table-toppers faced a shaky start, as they lost their big players Suzie Bates and Ellyse Perry in the first two overs itself.
Alyssa Healy and Ashleigh Gardner tried to bring her team back in game with her 48-run partnership.
Healy left the crease after scoring 22 off 21, Gardner remained there.
Erin Burns didn’t manage to score some runs in this game as she gone for 1. And the Sixers was again slipped to back foot with that shock.
Gardner, however, was playing her game from the other end, and in no time recorded her fifty, but her innings didn’t last for long. Lauren Smith removed her for 53.
After losing half of the side for 94 in 13.2 overs, the Sixers got the support from Nicole Bolton and Maitlan Brown. They both did a partnership of 56 runs and helped the side to reach 150. Till the time Bolton walked back due to run-out, the stars were already at 150 in 18.3 overs.
She played a decent knock of 28 off 26. Brown was remained unbeaten in the process and scored 29 in just 21 to help the side put 163 on board in 20 overs.
Samantha Bates and Lauren Smith shared 2-2 wickets each for Thunders. While Hannah Darlington grabbed a single wicket.

In reply, the Thunder also witnessed a bad start, as they lost their opener Tammy Beaumont for just 7.
Soon, Phoebe Litchfield too left the crease that put the team in pressure.
Sammy-Jo Johnson and Rachael Haynes then steadied the ship with their 32-run partnership.
Johnson, however then left the crease after scoring 22. Haynes remained there and did a 53-run partnership with Chloe Tyron then.
Thunder were looking in manageable form as they were at 113 for 3 in 15.5 overs.
But, a setback after losing 2 back to back wickets of Rachael Haynes and Chloe Tyron left the team very behind in the game.
The other batters didn’t manage to add more runs and as a result Sydney Thunder lost the game by 15 runs.
Hannah Darlington, however, tried her best with an unbeaten 21 off 9, but it wasn’t enough to hand her side a victory in a crucial match.
With this win, Sydney Sixers moved way ahead of other teams, as they won 6 out of their 7 games and now have 12 points on their side. While the second best team Perth scorchers only having 9 points in the same number of matches.
Sydney Thunder, who only won a single game so far out 8, slipped to second last spot.
