South Africa And Rain Obstruct Australia’s Way To MCG

Australia’s Way To Final:

In Women’s T20 cricket, till now, no team has felt the taste of victory even slightly close to Australia’s. Already won three world titles, the hosts, Australia, got back the trophy in the year 2018 after handing it over to West Indies temporarily in 2016. But winning in home soil in front of your fans seems fantastic than anything. And this final match is bigger than it is ever been.

Before some days, it is informed that nearly half of the tickets for the final match at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) were sold out. A final match of the World Cup in front of the huge crowd just dreams come true for these girls. But this time, it is not that easy for them.

On the opening match of the tournament, the Australians faced a lot of problems when Poonam Yadav, the Indian bowler ran through their line up to impose a heart-breaking loss. And they are almost scattered when Sri Lanka seemed all set to defeat them for the very first time in any format before their win.

In Australia Vs Bangladesh match, Australia won just by four runs in which they lost their star all-rounder player Ellyse Perry for the remainder of the tournament. Apart from this loss, they have many things to concentrate on. They have to fit themselves strategically.

There may be a possibility of rain in the game. For this reason, not only Australia will be forced to modify their strategy but also they would have to wish that the match doesn’t get washed out. In such circumstances, South Africa will get a chance to go to the final.

Team News:

South Africa Team:

For a squad that has had three wins continuously, any modifications to the playing XI have little chance. Their star player Marizanne Kapp didn’t take training on the eve of the game since she needs to be recovered from an illness. A call on her availability on the match will be known on the morning of the match.

Probable XI:

Lizelle Lee, Dane van Niekerk (C), Mignon du Preez, Marizanne Kapp, Laura Wolvaardt, Chloe Tryon,  Sune Luus, Trisha Chetty (WK), Ayabonga Khaka, Shabnim Ismail, Nonkululeko Mlaba

Australia Team:

Australia has confusion. They want an alternative for Perry. Sophie Molineux or Delissa Kimmince may take the place of Perry. It will be interesting to see in case Meg Lanning comes in at the 3rd position again ahead of Ashleigh Gardner.

Probable XI:

Beth Mooney, Alyssa Healy (WK), Ashleigh Gardner, Rachael Haynes, Meg Lanning (C), Annabel Sutherland, Sophie Molineux/Delissa Kimmince, Nicola Carey, Georgia Wareham, Megan Schutt, Jess Jonassen
