Sourav Ganguly Discharged From Hospital After Testing Negative For Omicron

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly got discharged from Kolkata’s Woodlands Hospital, bringing a great development. The former Indian skipper was confirmed safe after screening negative for the Omicron variant of COVID.

Specialists at Woodlands Hospital, wherein Ganguly was being treated after testing positive for COVID-19, said he was doing great. He must, however, remain at home in isolation.

Despite the fact that the 49-year-old was experiencing very minor symptoms, he was placed under monitoring as a safeguard. In reality, his family had established that he was healthy and that there was nothing to be concerned about. He had medication on Monday night and is now “hemodynamically stable,” according to the hospital.

It is unclear when Ganguly will get back to work

It should be mentioned, although, it was not the first instance the former Bengal cricketer had been taken to the hospital. He was hospitalized twice previously in 2021 for various causes. He was hospitalized for the first time in January after suffering from chest pain. It was then reported that the former Indian hitter suffered a heart attack during exercising out at his house in Kolkata.

As a result, he also had a right coronary angioplasty. Then, after 20 days, he had comparable chest discomfort. This resulted in the need for a 2nd round of angioplasty on January 28. Two stents were placed in 2 arteries during the procedure. Following all of this, the Indian icon came back to work in March. He appeared to be busy with his job for the BCCI, and the board president was frequently in the spotlight.

Despite being completely vaccinated, he screened positive for COVID-19 on Monday and was admitted to the hospital the same day. Another important point to mention is that his sibling, Snehasish Ganguly, came back positive for COVID-19 previously this year. Nonetheless, now that Ganguly is stable and has been discharged, it is just a question of time well before Bengal Tiger gets back to work.
