Sivaramakrishnan, Chauhan, Khurasiya Apply For The Post Of National Selector

Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, the former leg-spinner of India, has applied to the national selection panel for a position along with Rajesh Chauhan, the former off-spinner, and Amay Khurasiya, the left-handed batsman.

To get a place in the selection committee, these three former India Internationals have confirmed their candidature. The process of applying for this position will end on January 24 (Friday). MSK Prasad and Gagan Khoda from South Zone and Central Zone of the current committee will be replaced by the BCCI.

Some other selectors will continue for one more season, including Jatin Paranjpe from West Zone, Sarandeep Singh from North Zone, and Devang Gandhi from East Zone.

He had begun his stint in this career then. In a cricket committee of the International Cricket Council, he also served as a representative of players. He is said to be a good fit for this position.

On the other hand, Rajesh Chauhan has also applied for the same position. Earlier, in the 1990s, he was a part of the Indian spin trio. In that trio, the legendary leg spinner Kumble, the ‘left-arm orthodox’ Raju, and Chauhan himself.

Amay Khurasiya is also not far behind in this race. The Madhya Pradesh player was a left-handed batsman. In the domestic circuit, he had been doing well with an aggregate of 7,000 runs. He works as an inspector in the Indian Customs & Central excise department.

The Three Cricket Internationals On Selector’s Position

After talking to his family, Sivaramakrishnan decided to apply for the position of a national selector. Sivaramakrishnan said, “If I am getting this opportunity I would love to make a wonderful difference. If I stay here for four years, I will give Indian cricket a better direction in the context of bench strength. Of all the departments in which I can do well, spin bowling is my forte.”

“I have watched cricket and covered international and domestic cricket for quite a while. I think that I can help the wrist spinners in their development of pool over the country,” he added.

Chauhan, who is also a veteran of 21 Tests and 35 ODIs gave said, ” I am interested a lot in the job of a selector and I am hoping that this time my name will come up for consideration.”

Khurasiya also confirmed that he “had applied” for this position.
