Shreyas Iyer, India’s right-handed top-order batsman, on Thursday spoke about the batting order. In the first ODI against Australia when he did not get to play at his usual number four spot, he expressed his view on it. He said that – “One should be ready to bat at any position”.
Earlier, the skipper Virat Kohli had also hinted that he wasn’t sure where he would bat. Iyer also believes the same after the change in his batting position.
Iyer has performed very well in India’s limited-overs set-up. On Tuesday, Shreyas Iyer batted at number five. The skipper Virat Kohli also came at number four as per a new strategy. These changes were supposed to have a positive effect on the team.
The purpose of this change in the batting order of Virat Kohli was to accommodate specialist openers KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan. In the first match against Australia of the ODI series, there were many changes.
Team India had come with this strategy but they failed, resulting in the loss of the game by 10 wickets.
Iyer On Changes In Batting Position

The team can make changes as it’s looking for more experiments, the stylish batsman also added.
“ To bat at any particular number we can’t give any particular reasons, but to be focused it is really important for us. To not bat a similar position there is need cry about that. We are looking forward to doing more experiments and these experiments are something. Hopefully, for each batsman, we will get a good number,” added the Mumbaikar.
