Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has revealed that he is interested in owning the Pakistan Super League (PSL) team shortly. Recently, Pakistani journalist, Saj Sadiq told what conversation Shoaib Akhtar had with him. Shoaib Akhtar said the Pakistan Cricket Board wants to add two more teams to the list of teams in the PSL.
According to the tweets, Shoaib Akhtar bravely declared himself to be the most sought-after player in Pakistan and beyond the border. According to him, since people know him, it will be easy for him to spread the brand value of PSL worldwide.
Besides, he also thinks it because he is recognized globally, it will be easy for him to get investment from all over the world. He added that if the PCB launches two more teams in the PSL, at least one of them should go to Akhtar.

This is the first time Shoaib Akhtar is keen to buy the franchise. The fast bowler, who retired from international cricket in 2011, has been close to the game ever since. He commented with Star India before opening his YouTube channel. Through videos on the YouTube channel, he tried to express his views on the game every time.

There are currently six sides to the PSL, namely the Karachi Kings, Lahore Khalanders, Quetta Gladiators, Multan Sultan, Islamabad United, and Peshawar Zalmi. The tournament started with five teams in 2015 before joining a new team from Multan in 2017. There is no official word from the PCB that there may be two more sides to the PSL.
But it will be interesting to see if they add two more sides to the league. Rawalpindi, the city from Akhtar, has no team yet. So, it is fair to assume that if the PCB adds another group to the league, it might be Rawalpindi.
There are only six teams in the PSL compared to other franchise leagues in the world, such as the Big Bash League (Australia) or the Indian Premier League. The BBL and IPL both grow eight teams. There may be two more sides to IPL shortly.
