Shahid Afridi Leaves The Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2020 Midway Due To A ‘Personal Emergency’ On Tuesday

Pakistani ace Shahid Afridi was recently seen at Sri Lanka’s top-tier league Lanka Premier League. Afridi featured for Galle Gladiators in three games and they failed in all the games so far. However, Shahid Afridi scored a brilliant 58 of just 23 balls which included 6 huge sixes in their debut LPL game.

Afridi is known for his entertaining style of play and is given the nickname “Boom Boom” for his explosive style of batting. Shahid Afridi’s big-hitting qualities have still not dimmed at the age of 40 and it was evident during his exhibition of batting in the Lanka Premier League.

However, the former Pakistani skipper left the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2020 midway due to a ‘personal emergency’ on Tuesday, bringing his spell with Galle Gladiators to a halt. Nevertheless, Shahid Afridi can return to action after dealing with the said problem. Certain rumours of his daughter being hospitalised have surfaced but there is no official word from either the player or the franchise over what sort of a personal emergency Afridi has had to deal with.

Shahid Afridi Promises To Return Back Once The Situation Is Handled

The credibility of the news, however, hasn’t been verified yet but some accounts on Twitter have claimed that the daughter of the cricketer is seriously ill. This is because on Wednesday, a picture on social media appeared showing one of Afridi’s daughters being in the hospital.

Shahid Afridi said, “Unfortunately I have a personal emergency to attend to back home. I will return to join back my team at LPL immediately after the situation is handled. All the best.”

Shahid Afridi Can Still Do It All At The Age Of 40

Earlier in LPL, Tuskers’ Naveen-ul-Haq and Gladiators’ Mohammad Amir got into a heated argument. When the Gladiators skipper Shahid Afridi, came out for a handshake with the opposition, he was seen talking to an angry and irritated Naveen-ul-Haq. Afridi spoke to him and seemed to advise him to cool down, however, the Afghanistan wonderchild didn’t look happy and ended up getting schooled by the Pakistan veteran.
