Sanjeev Gupta resigns from MPCA

Sanjeev Gupta The Life Member Of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association:

Sanjeev Gupta, a life member of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association, resigned from membership of the association following a complaint filed by the life members of Prasoon Kanmadikar and Dilip Chudgar on Saturday (18 July).

Rohit Pandit, the MPCA CEO, confirmed receiving the resignation and told Cricbuzz, “We’ve received Mr. Sanjeev Gupta’s resignation and we will take the needful steps to complete the formalities, respecting Mr. Gupta’s wishes.”

The complaint emerged after Gupta posed a conflict of interest concerns with the BCCI Ethics Officer against a number of top Indian cricketers, including Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Rahul Dravid, and VVS Laxman, among others, in the last year.

“Mr. Sanjeev Gupta is in violation of Rule 6 of the MPCA Code of Conduct by using his association with MPCA as a ‘Life Member’ in his various e-mails/complaints to the BCCI Ethics Officer and other communications to BCCI and others, causing ridicule and embarrassment to the Association and its members and causing disrepute to the Association and its Office Bearers and in turn the Members of the Association. His actions are harmful to the rights of MPCA, “said the lawsuit.

“Prayer-That Mr. Sanjeev Gupta be removed from his life as a member of the MPCA for bringing everlasting disrepute to the Association and other members of the Organization.”

After Gupta ‘s resignation, Kanmadikar said, “Maybe he eventually realized that his acts and acts were not in the interests of MPCA, BCCI & Indian Cricket, in general, that would have drawn criminal provisions that would have been more humiliating for him. So resignation was a way out for him, that’s what I can read from his act.”
