In 2013, the legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar retired after representing Indian cricket for nearly two and a half decades. He is generally considered as one of the greatest batsmen of all time. Tendulkar set many significant Test and ODI batting records during his international cricket career, including records for most individual runs and centuries in both formats.

On April 9, 1995, during India’s crucial Asia Cup encounter against Sri Lanka in Sharjah, Sachin Tendulkar scored his fourth ODI hundred. After winning the toss Sri Lanka decided to bat first and scored 202-9 out of their 50 overs. In response, Sachin Tendulkar scored an attacking 112 of only 107 balls to help India overtake the total of Sri Lanka with 16.5 overs to spare. During his innings, he smashed 15 blazing boundaries and a six against Chaminda Vaas and co.

Sachin Tendulkar also brought up 3,000 career runs in ODIs during the course of his knock. At the time, the ‘Master Blaster’ was only 21 years old and became the youngest batsman in ODI history to reach the landmark.

Several records and figures of Sachin Tendulkar claim some of the most important tests and ODI batting milestones of all time. Tendulkar is 29 centuries ahead of the second-placed Ricky Ponting (71) with 100 international centuries across all formats. The batting icon also added 34,357 international runs for India to lead all-time run-scoring charts.

With regard to a donation from Sachin Tendulkar, the 2011 World Cup-winning cricketer recently donated a total of 50 lakh to the Indian government to tackle the ongoing coronavirus crisis. From his donation of 50 lakh, he has given some 25 lakh to the Relief Fund of the Prime Minister. The remaining 25 lakh was donated to the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support people affected by the coronavirus.
