Sachin Tendulkar Calls for Change In Cricket Rules

Sachin Tendulkar Said That ICC Should Reconsider Its Laws:

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar said on Saturday that the International Cricket Council (ICC) should consider removing the provision to stick to the umpire’s call when a team calls for a review of the LBW decision.

Tendulkar said that the decision should depend entirely on what the technology shows if it is brought into the game.

“It doesn’t matter what percent of the ball reaches the stumps, if DRS tells us that the ball hits the stumps, it should be given out, regardless of the on-the-field decision. That’s the rationale for using cricket technology. While we know technology isn’t 100 percent right, but neither are humans, “Tendulkar tweeted along with a video of him and fellow battling great Brian Lara discussing the Decision Review System (DRS) for the former 100 MB device.

“Somebody’s unhappy with the on-site decision, and that’s the only reason they’ve gone upstairs to the third arbiter, and when that happens, let the technology take over. Just like in tennis, it’s either in or out, there’s nothing in between. Once you’ve decided to use the technology, then you rely on it,” he said in the video.

Tendulkar has found support in veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh. “Agree with you Paji 1000 percent correct .. If the ball is touching the stump or kissing the stumps, it should be given out … it doesn’t matter how much of the ball hits the wicket .. few rules should be changed in the game to improve the game … this is certainly one of those (sic.),” Harbhajan tweeted.
