“Sachin has decided that this is not the time for celebrations. He feels that this is the best tribute he can pay to all the doctors, nurses, paramedics, policemen, defense personnel, who are at the frontline,” the source said.
The source also said that Sachin was uncomfortable talking about this topic. “He has always been very uncomfortable talking about this aspect,” the source said.
A spokesperson to Tendulkar added that the medical staff is playing on their front foot now and Sachin wanted to support them. The person further said that no one wanted Sachin to get out while he was batting and in the same way the maestro does not want to go out on his birthday or does not want anyone to go out.
“The medical staff is playing on the front foot and they are the heroes of the country today. He wants to bat for them now,” the spokesperson said.
