Saba Karim Asked “To Resign” From BCCI- Report

Saba Karim Was Appointed BCCI General Manager In December 2017:

Former Indian wicket-keeper Saba Karim was asked to resign as BCCI General Manager-Cricket Operations.

The 52-year-old Karim, who played one Test and 34 ODIs for India, was appointed to the Cricket Control Board in India ( BCCI) in December 2017. The Board did not make a formal statement on the matter, but it is learned that it was not satisfied with Karim ‘s planning for domestic cricket.

The Board did not make a formal statement on the matter, but it is learned that it was not satisfied with Karim ‘s planning for domestic cricket. “Yes, he was asked to resign. One of the reasons for this was that he was unable to prepare any tangible action plan for domestic cricket (following the COVID-19 pandemic),” the BCCI source told the leading media house.

Domestic cricket is unlikely to begin before December, with cases of COVID-19 continuing to rise in the region. If the IPL 2020 takes place in September-November as it is being speculated, domestic cricket can not be played at the same time.

The development comes after the resignation of BCCI CEO Rahul Johri earlier this month. The Chief Financial Officer of the Board, Santosh Rangnekar, also resigned last year after the new office-holders, led by President Sourav Ganguly, took over.
