S. Sreesanth Shares An Emotional Message After He Was Included In Kerala’s Probables For Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

On Wednesday, former Indian pacer S. Sreesanth was named in the list of Kerala probables for the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament. Sreesanth had been trying his best to make a comeback into mainstream cricket. His inclusion in the Kerala probables means that Sreesanth is now closer than ever to stage a comeback to Indian cricket.

The pacer has been itching to get back to play for India since he was handed a seven-year ban for spot-fixing. His ban got over in September this year. Sreesanth shared a video that showed him receiving his state cap with Kerala teammates and administrators around. Sreesanth posted on Twitter that, ”There is nothing stronger than a broken man, who has rebuilt himself.”

Sanju Samson will be leading the team in the tournament that begins on January 10. Sachin Baby will be Samson’s deputy in the tournament. Suresh Raina who is always encouraging his fellow and past cricketers greeted Sreesanth’s welcome. Raina posted on Twitter saying, “All the best brother! See you soon!” Sreesanth was all set to play in the KCA President’s Cup T20 but the tournament was postponed as the KCA did not get the government approval due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 37-year-old had last represented India in 2011 and played in the Indian Premier League in 2013 before the spot-fixing scandal broke out. Besides Sreesanth and Samson, Sachin Baby, Jalaj Saxena, Basil Thampi, and Robin Uthappa have also been included in the list of probables for the Kerala team.

S. Sreesanth had one of the best seam positions in the game. His outswinger was a connoisseur’s delight. He bowled many rippers to legendary batsmen.
