Rohit Sharma’s Mantra During Lockdown : Stay Fit, Stay In, Stay Safe

As the world coming to a standstill due to the coronavirus outbreak, sportspersons are looking to connect with fans not only to keep them amused but also to guide them in these tough times as well as to keep them aware of the dos and don’ts. Taking to Instagram, Rohit Sharma stressed once again the importance of keeping fit even during the lockdown.

In the latest Instagram post, he wrote: “Being homebound is no excuse, stay fit, stay in, stay safe.”

On Friday, PM Narendra Modi interacted with 49 sporting personalities including likes of BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, Indian Cricket Captain Virat Kohli, Cricket Legend Sachin Tendulkar, Badminton World Champion PV. Sindhu and Chess Legend Viswanathan Anand and urged them to continue to spread awareness among the people as India fights the pandemic coronavirus.

The pandemic has halted the world, and sporting activities across the globe have either been postponed or suspended, and even the fate of the 13th edition of the IPL is hanging in balance with the BCCI which is still considering to shift the tournament to the October-November window if the ICC is preparing to postpone the T20 World Cup.

Cricket Boards Across The Globe Cancels All Forms Of Cricket:

Owing to the spread of coronavirus pandemic, all forms of national, International and domestic Cricket, after the health bodies issued advisory that mass gatherings triggers spread of COVID 19 Infection.

Not only this, the most waited 13th edition of IPL 2020 tournament was also pushed to 15th April, and BCCI management is now looking for October – November window to conduct IPL 2020 tournament. In a recent media statement BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly had said, even if the tournament takes place, it would be truncated affair. All the players who had returned from foreign tournament, were asked to isolate themselves, in the wake of the spread of COVID 19 Infection.
