On Wednesday, BCCI announced that Rohit Sharma is the new Indian ODI captain via a Tweet. The following tweet read “The All-India Senior Selection Committee also decided to name Mr. Rohit Sharma as the Captain of the ODI & T20I teams going forward”. Virat Kohli’s run as the Indian ODI skipper was full of ups and downs.

While Kohli racked up some impressive numbers in the bilateral series, the 33-year-old failed to carry his side towards glory in ICC tournaments. Virat Kohli captained India a total of 95 times in the 50-50 format. Out of which, India won 65 games, lost 27 times. Virat scored a total of 5,449 runs in an average of 72.65 in the role of India’s ODI skipper.
