Rohit Sharma After Chahal Was Asked About The Fate Of IPL 2020

Coronavirus outbreak has brought the fate of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). At the moment, it has postponed till April 15, and the chances of this year’s tournament are narrow with India under lockdown until the same date. The window where the IPL takes place is also smaller now. However, Rohit Sharma hopes everything will wait until life returns to normal.

The lockdown has forced almost everyone, not just cricketers, to turn to social media to spend time together. And on the field and outside, well-gelled Indian cricketers Rohit and Yuzvendra Chahal took to Instagram to chat with each other.

During the live session, Leggie asked the former about the fate of the IPL this year, and Rohit was quick to point out that the cash-rich league could wait until the country first arrived.

“We have to think about the country first. The situation should be good first, then we can talk about IPL. Let life come back to normal first.”

Rohit Sharma was spotted wearing a desert look on the roads in Mumbai, saying he had never seen his city before. “I have never seen Bombay like this before,” Chahal(32), said, pointing to the empty highways standing on the balcony.

However, the vice-captain of India’s limited-overs is happy that the break has allowed the cricketers to spend time with their family. “As cricketers, we don’t get time for family. There is so much touring and cricket. It’s time to spend and load with them,” Rohit said.

In the case of international cricket, every bilateral series and tournament have canceled due to the coronavirus epidemic. The India-South Africa ODI series also had to be canceled as the virus spread so rapidly in the country and around the world. Rohit Sharma was not selected for the series as he was recovering from a hamstring injury in the T20I series in New Zealand.
