Please Let Us Go, Honest To God- Robin Uthappa:
Indian batsman Robin Uthappa said on Friday that he wants the BCCI to make small changes on its decision on the T20 League. BCCI does not give permissions to participate in different foreign leagues such as the Big Bash League (BBL), Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Mzansi Super League (South Africa), Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), etc.
The former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh received a No Objection Certification by the board in the last year after the announcement of HIS retirement from all cricket formats including the Indian Premier League.
Uthappa in a media interview said, “Let us go, please. It hurts when we can’t play. It would be so nice if we could play at least a few others because you want to learn and improve as much as you can.
Uthappa Was Bought By Rajasthan Royals At The IPL Auctions:
A few days after Suresh Raina made a similar suggestion in an Instagram Live chat with former Indian allrounder Irfan Pathan, Uthapa’s comments came.
Uthappa, bought in December last year by Rajasthan Royals at the IPL auction, further expressed hope that with Sourav Ganguly at the helm things could improve. “Ganguly is a very progressive human being who always wanted to bring India to the next level. He laid the foundations where cricket in India is now, “said Uthappa.
“Hopefully at some point he’ll look at this,” he said.
Captain of New Zealand cricket team, Kane Williamson expressed his wish to be part of Bangladesh’s one of the popular domestic cricket tournaments, Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The star cricketer said that if he had the opportunity he would like to participate in the next BPL edition.
Due to coronavirus, this year’s 13th edition of IPL was suspended indefinitely. It still remains to be seen whether the tournament will take place this year or not.
