Pushkar Singh Dhami confirmed the news on Twitter. He termed Pant one of the finest cricketers in the Indian team and said he is the country’s young hero. Dhami further stated that Pant has been picked as the State Brand Ambassador to inspire young people to pursue sporting careers.
“One of the best cricket players of India, idol of youth, and Lal Shri Rishabh Pant of Uttarakhand has been appointed by our government as “State Brand Ambassador” with the aim of encouraging the youth of the state towards sports and public health,” tweeted Dhami.

Rishabh Pant, 24, has been picked to India’s Test team for the South African series and is now in Johannesburg. Pant last played for India in a Twenty20 International series versus New Zealand.
Pant has appeared in 25 Tests, 18 One-Day Internationals, and 41 Twenty20 Internationals for India. Since he has amassed 1549 runs in his Test career, the dashing hitter has indeed made 529 runs in ODIs. The left-handed hitter has 623 runs with a strike rate of nearly 125 in T20I cricket.
Rishabh Pant is also the captain of the Delhi Capitals in the IPL and has been retained by the team prior to the 2022 season. Pant has appeared in 84 IPL games and scored around 2500 runs at a terrifying strike rate of 147.46.
