Ranji Trophy Round-Up: Sarfaraz Hits 177 Against Mp

Sarfaraz Khan‘s 177 runs helped Mumbai to reach 427 on Thursday during the second day of Group B match against Madhya Pradesh. Sarfaraz, whose last five innings included a double ton and a triple ton, shared a 275-run stand with the 122-scored Aakarshit Gomel. Captain Aditya Tare then anchored the tail to carry Mumbai to 427, before Madhya Pradesh was reduced to 200/7 by the bowlers of Mumbai.

Delhi scored 623 against Rajasthan, thanks to Kunwar Bidhuri and Kshitiz Sharma, who have scored 196-run for the seventh wicket.  Rajasthan closed at 115/4 on the second day.

After finishing the first innings at 138, Bengal managed to dismiss Punjab for 151. After that, they reached the end of the second day at 199 runs with the loss of 9 wickets and able to build a lead of 186-run.

Karnataka’s Advantage Reduced By Baroda

Baroda reduced the advantage of Karnataka and gave only 80 runs in the first innings. At the end of the day, Karnataka was dismissed for 233, with Soyeb Sopariya’s five wickets and Baroda established a 60-run lead with five wickets in hand.

Although Jaydev Unadkat took six wickets, Tamil Nadu was able to score 424 with the help of 183 runs of Narayan Jagadeesan. At the end of the day, Saurashtra was at 107/3.

After dismissing Haryana for 291, Jammu and Kashmir took a lead of 49 runs while Himachal Pradesh limited Uttar Pradesh in only 119 runs with the help of Rishi Dhawan’s fifer. At the end of the day, Himachal Pradesh lead by 283 runs. 

 Gujarat continues to control Andhra Pradesh with 177 runs leading, while Vidarbha lags behind Hyderabad by 30 runs with six wickets.

Among the matches in the Plate Group, Goa managed to defeat Mizoram in a match that continued for only two days. On Day 1 Goa raced to 490/4 before dismissing Mizoram twice on Day 2 and claimed victory by an innings and 211 runs.

Manipur faced an uphill battle in attempting to avoid an innings defeat as they chased Chandigarh in their second innings by 576 runs. At first, they were dismissed for only 63 runs.

Pondicherry has taken a lead of 341 runs with three wickets in hand against Nagaland.
