Ashwin Reaction On England Journalist
The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been condemned by English sports journalist Lawrence Booth, who claims that the particular T20 League consumes most of the cricketing calendar. Here is all about Ashwin Reaction On England Journalist.
And in reaction, Indian ace spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin replied, claiming that perhaps the football’s English Premier League (EPL) is also equally 6 months long. There are breaks between games, and the players only engage about two games each week.
Even the EPL happens and almost has a six-month window: R Ashwin
“Lawrence Booth (English journalist) had tweeted about IPL fixtures saying it takes almost one-third (one-sixth) of the year. Even the English Premier League happens and almost has a six-month window. The players will have more gaps between matches and they will have only one or two matches per week,” said Ashwin.
Ravichandran Ashwin also stated that he is unsure if cricket would progress to the point where even the IPL will take up nearly half of the calendar year. Ashwin went on to say that the IPL is a league with a lot of promise, and almost all of the game’s spectators and partners are aware of this. The veteran Indian bowler finished by suggesting that other worldwide cricketing competitions may be shorter in the future in terms of the IPL.
“Of course, cricket getting to that stage will always remain a huge question mark. But IPL as a league has all the potential to take cricket into that stage for sure. And all the cricket viewers, cricket nations, stakeholders know this already. Because of this IPL window, there might be a chance that other formats of international cricket or world events might get shortened,” R Ashwin concluded.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has released the official schedule for the Indian Premier League 2022. The 15th edition of the IPL season will be featured with a total of 10 teams, where 2 additional teams are Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Gujarat Titans (GT). The whole fixtures are to be held within India and Mumbai, Pune are the venues that have been confirmed for the prestigious Indian T20 League.
Ravichandran Ashwin will play for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 2022 season of the IPL. The Royals selected the off-spinner at a price of Rs.5 crore.
