Prize Money For ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 Winners Announced

The International Cricket Council recently announced that the champions of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 will receive a $1.6 million prize money, with the runners-up receiving half of that. The event, which will be held in the UAE and Oman from 17th October to 14th November, will award a portion of the US $5.6 million in cash prizes to each of the 16 teams involved. The 2 losing semi-finalists will each get $400,000 from the matches on November 10th and 11th. Each matchup that teams win in the Super 12 phase will earn them bonus cash, just like in 2016. Each of the 30 winners in that stage will get $40,000, for a total prize pool of $1,200,000.

India, Afghanistan, England, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, West Indies, and South Africa, have all secured their place in the Super 12 stage. The 8  teams will get $70,000 respectively, a total of $560,000, if their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup campaigns fail at that phase.

The qualifier round will take place in Oman and Abu Dhabi

For first-round winners, the same structure applies, with $40,000 awarded to players who conquer each of the 12 games, totaling $480,000. The 4 teams eliminated in the first round will get $40,000 each from a total prize pool of $160,000.

Bangladesh, Ireland, Sri Lanka, Namibia, the Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Oman, and Scotland, are among the nations whose campaigns begin in the first round. The qualifier round will take place in Oman and Abu Dhabi on October 17th. The hosts, Oman, will face Papua New Guinea in the first game, whereas  Scotland and Bangladesh will face off in the 2nd match of the day.

In the meantime, every ICC Men’s T20 World Cup match will have two scheduled Drinks Intervals. They would be performed at the halfway mark of each innings and it will last 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
