Prithvi Shaw Helps Mumbai Reach Semi-Finals In Vijay Hazare Trophy
Mumbai were facing Saurashtra into Knockouts. Skipper Prithvi Shaw blazed his way to an unbeaten 185 off just 123 balls as Mumbai stormed into the semi-finals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy with a crushing nine-wicket win in the fourth quarter-final on Tuesday.
Opting to bat, Saurashtra mount on Samarth Vyas unbeaten 90 to post 284 for 5. It was then overshadowed by Shaw’s assaulting, as Mumbai chased the target in just 41.5 overs. Mumbai required 285 in chase and Shaw went on the offensive form as Mumbai scored 67 for no loss after nine overs. The right-hander did not spare any of the opposition bowlers as he hit 21 fours and seven sixes in his monstrous innings. Shaw smashed his third hundred in the tournament after slamming 105 not out against Delhi and 227 not out against Puducherry in the league stage. Prithvi Shaw is completely destructive for a while now.
Yashasvi Jaiswal on the other end helped Prithvi Shaw to go big while he was capitalising on the wicket. Yashasvi Jaiswal went on score 75 runs and by the time Jaydev Unadkat got Jaiswal’s wicket, Mumbai’s score was already 238 runs. Aditya Tare later scored 20 runs with Prithvi Shaw and Mumbai had an easy win at the end.

Karnataka, Gujarat, Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh have qualified for the Semifinals. Mumbai will be facing Karnataka in the semi-finals while Gujarat faces Uttar Pradesh. Both matches are scheduled for March 11th, 2021.
