Pragyan Ojha: “Financial Help To Fight The Coronavirus Pandemic Should Not Be Judged By Numbers”

On Monday (30-03-2020), former spinner of team India Pragyan Ojha said financial help to the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic should not be judged by numbers. It is very strange to see the people questioning to those making contributions for the amounts they are paying.

Because of the Coronavirus outbreak, the whole world is facing a critical situation. Every part of the country is in lockdown. So many sportspeople, celebrities come forward to make contributions to the relief funds to fight against the pandemic.

However, there have been situations where users of social media have questioned their donation amounts and Pragyan Ojha said it has left him much confused.

He quoted in his twitter handle “ it is really very strange to see how people who are coming forward and help the needy people in this critical situation by making some contributions are being questioned (how much money have they contributed). Help is just a help, it should not be measured. We should be thankful to those persons. #JustAThought #COVID2019india,”

India captain Virat Kohli and his wife Bollywood diva Anushka Sharma pledged their support to the relief fund of Maharashtra Chief Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to combat the deadly virus.

Among the other sportspersons of India, former India captain and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, as well as Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, contributed Rs INR 50 lakh each, while badminton champion PV Sindhu donated Rs. INR 10 lakh.

Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia donated his six months’ salary to the Haryana Chief Minister’s relief fund.

Cricketer cum politician Gautam Gambhir and left-hand batsman Suresh Raina also contributed 50 and 52 lakh respectively.

Runners Hima Das and Dutee Chand also donated their one month salary to the relief funds for the noble cause.
