‘Practice And Play Matches Are Two Different Things’- Azharuddin

Does Not Matter How Big The Player Is: Azharuddin Believes MS Dhoni Needs Practice

When MS Dhoni’s comeback back to the field was further delayed by the postponement of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Former Indian cricketer, Mohammad Azharuddin said that returning to international cricket for a long duration is not simple. He said, “Practice and play are two separate items.”

When the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup progresses, Azharuddin said the selectors will certainly study the player capability in the previous match results before lining up the squad for the tournament’s premier.

“Dhoni can explain what he wants better than me and that will be his personal decision. See as of now, the condition isn’t healthy in the country and that is the reason why IPL has been postponed and I guess it’s going to take some time to figure it out but for Dhoni, retirement or playing in international matches is his personal opinion, “Azharuddin said to media.

The 2020 Edition Of The IPL Has Been Postponed Until Further Notice By The BCCI:

“The selectors will definitely look at the performance, because playing after a long gap isn’t that easy, it’s really important to practice matches and it doesn’t matter how big a player you are, you have to play some matches. Matches are two separate items to practice and playing, “he said.

Due to the country’s coronavirus outbreak, the 2020 season of the IPL was postponed until further notice by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The ICC T20 World Cup 2020 is scheduled to be held at seven venues around Australia between October 18 and November 15.

Despite India’s battle against the dangerous virus, many incidents have been registered throughout the world where doctors and police officers have been attacked by men.

Condemning these events, Azharuddin said that “very strict penalties” should be given to citizens indulging in these activities.

“See, harsh retribution will be given to anyone who is targeting doctors and the police force. When a doctor joins the profession he/she will take an oath to save people’s lives. They’re only doing their work, so if anyone threatens them, they will be prosecuted really harshly, so then people can understand, “he added.

Azharuddin also urged people to follow the government’s guidelines and to take every precaution.

“And we have to obey laws and guidelines. People will not be sitting together somewhere. We will take any measure since there is no antidote against it. So, we need to exercise mutual distancing, “said Azharuddin.
