Pollard Reveals The Reason Behind Their First T20I Loss

On Friday, Kieron pollard, west indies skipper said that his team has conceded many extra runs which made them lose in their first T20 Internationals against India. Visitors lost their first T20I against India by 6 wickets. They have scored 207/5 but Indian batsmen have successfully chased the target given by west indies and won the match. Team India’s captain Virat Kohli has shown his aggressive batting skills by hitting tremendous shots straight into the boundaries. King Kohli has smashed 94 runs in 50 balls.

Pollard says “where we lost the match was conceding extras”

In the post-match presentation ceremony, west indies skipper Kieron pollard said  “208 runs to defend, on any day you would take that 10 out of 10 times. Where we have lost the match was the extra runs and our bowling. Our execution was poor. If we had executed the plans we had spoken about, it would have been a different scenario despite the good batting wicket,”

Windies team have conceded a whopping 23 extra runs in the innings which caused damage to the good batting effort of Shimron Hetmyer who scored a maiden half-century and Evin Lewis who smashed 40 runs in 17 balls.

“There are 2 areas in any game, and batsmen were exceptional. We have a lot of positives to take from this game. Shimron Hetmyer and Lewis got back amongst the runs and that was quite satisfying, but we have to do the all-round basics right,”

“Hopefully I have an idea of when to come up the order as a captain, and in a pressure situation, it’s very important to push yourself and it’s a pleasure to perform for your team any day and get them across the line,” he said.

Now west indies cricket team has started their preparation to face team India in the second T20I of three-match series which will be scheduled to play on Sunday at Thiruvananthapuram.
