PCB Says All The Coronavirus Test Results Negative

“Coronavirus Tests Important For Integrity And Credibility Of PSL”

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the 128 test results for coronavirus it conducted have been negative. The cricket body conducted the tests on players, the cricketing staff, broadcasters, match officials and team owners on Tuesday, and all the results have shown negative.

PCB chief executive Wasim Khan said, “It was absolutely critical for the integrity and credibility of the HBL Pakistan Super League and the Pakistan Cricket Board that all players, support personnel, broadcasters, and match officials, those who had decided to stay back till the end of the tournament, tested negative for COVID-19.

He further said,” “In this background, the PCB is pleased with the outcome of the results and happy that all these players and officials have rejoined their families without any health and safety doubts or concerns.

“The PCB will continue to put in place precautionary measures to better safeguard the health of its employees,” he added.

He further added, “I urge cricket fans and followers to exercise absolute caution and value their as well as others’ well-being. They can overcome this pandemic by maintaining hygiene, avoiding close physical contact like handshaking and hugs, staying away from gatherings, avoiding close contact when anyone who is experiencing cough and fever, and spreading awareness about safety measures.”

He expressed the belief that normalcy would return quickly to our society so that playing fields can once again witness the resumption of healthy activities.

Foreign Players Have Left The Country

All the foreign players and match officials have left Pakistan for their homes. PCB suspended PSL in the middle as a result of coronavirus pandemic.

Just before few hours on March 17th before the beginning of the first semifinal match the cricketing body called off the semifinals and the finals, which was scheduled to be held on March 18th.

Initially, it tried to save the tournament by shortening the schedule by 4 days but it had to finally cancel it.
