Pakistan Cricket Players Donate Rs 50 Lakhs For Corona Fund

“We Will always Stand By The Government’s Side In Difficult Times”: Pakistan Cricket Players

Pakistan cricket players have come together to support the Pakistan government’s effort to fight the fast-spreading coronavirus. The centrally contracted players will jointly donate a whopping 50 lakh rupees to the government emergency fund.

Apart from the centrally contracted players employees of the board up to the senior manager level, will contribute their one day’s salary, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani said.

“Those employed as general managers or on higher posts will give two days’ salary to the fund. The PCB will collect all these funds and deposit it to the government’s coronavirus fund.”

“It is the history of the cricket board that we always stand by the government in difficult times,” Mani added.

The centrally contracted players receive salaries ranging from 5 to 12 lakh rupees monthly apart from match fees and other earnings.

The PCB has already given its high-performance centre in Karachi at the national stadium to paramedical staff working at the special coronavirus hospital set up at the expo centre in the city.

He said though the coronavirus has disturbed the cricket events, it was important for the country to support the government decisions and follow the precautionary measures during the ongoing health crisis.
