Pakistan Confirms Three Players Being Tested Positive Of COVID 19

In Its Press Release, The PCB Said All Three Players Did Not Exhibit Any Signs Before Their Rawalpindi Test On Sunday:

The Pakistan Cricket Board ( PCB) on Monday reported that the coronavirus has been tested positively by three all-rounder Shadab Khan uncapped teenage batsman Haider Ali and fast bowler Haris Rauf.In its press release, the PCB said all three players showed no symptoms before Sunday’s testing at Rawalpindi. “Three players-Haider Ali, Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan-were confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board to have tested positive for Covid-19,” the PCB said in a release.

“The players had shown no signs until they were checked in Rawalpindi on Sunday ahead of the tour to England for the Pakistan men’s national cricket team,” it said. The PCB also added that the players were advised to immediately self-isolate themselves.

“The PCB medical panel is in touch with the three recommended to go into self-isolation immediately,” the statement reads.Two other players Imad Wasim and Usman Shinwari who were also tested for the virus in Rawalpindi have tested negative. Both will travel to Lahore on the 24th of June before leaving for the England tour.

“Imad Wasim and Usman Shinwari, also screened in Rawalpindi, registered negative and will fly to Lahore on June 24 as well,” it stated. The PCB also confirmed that all other players and team officials were screened at their respective centers except senior cricketer Shoaib Malik, bowling coach Waqar Younis and Cliffe Deacon, and their tests are expected to arrive on Tuesday.

“The other players and team officials were checked at their respective centers in Karachi , Lahore, and Peshawar on Monday, barring Cliffe Deacon, Shoaib Malik, and Waqar Younis,” he added.Pakistan is due to travel to England on June 28 for a bio-safe tour of three Tests and as many Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) as possible.

The test series will continue with Manchester’s Old Trafford stadium hosting the first match from August 5-9, while the second and third tests will be played from August 13-17 and 21-25 respectively in Southampton.The three T20Is will all be played on August 28, 30 and September 1, in Southampton.
