It is the clash of the titans as Pakistan will take on India at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Pakistan started the second round with an empathic win over Bangladesh. Their fast bowlers have exerted their dominance to set up convincing wins in the tournament so far. India who walked into the Asia Cup with very little game time haven’t exactly had a smooth ride. Their top order struggled against Pakistan losing 3 wickets inside the powerplay and being 66-4 in 15 overs.

India’s bowling left a lot to be desired as an inexperienced Nepal side put on a sizeable total. They walk into this game being largely undercooked. There is still uncertainty over the participation of KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah in this game. India is yet to zero down on their first choice playing XI. This reflects the state of mind the team finds it itself in currently.

We Look At PAK vs IND Who Will Win Super 4 Match?

PAK vs IND – Proven performers

#1 Shaheen Shah Afridi

There isn’t a bigger name than Shaheen Shah Afridi when it comes to a Pakistan-India contest. It was the left-arm magic of Afridi that sparked a turnaround in Pak-Ind contests. He bowled Pakistan to a win with his first spell itself in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Afridi has since then held an edge over most of the Indian batters. He clearly is aware of the tentativeness that Indian batters show against him. Afridi bowled an absolute beauty to dismiss Rohit Sharma after setting him in the previous two balls. Pakistan will once again turn to their star speedster to make early inroads in this game.

#2 Hardik Pandya

There is certainly no doubt that Virat Kohli has a standout record against Pakistan in T20Is. He has more than impressive numbers in ODIs too against the arch rivals. But Kohli lately has been found wanting against quality attacks in the ODI format. Hence he might not attract the same level as scrutiny as other MVP from the Indian side. Hardik Pandya has time and again stepped up against Pakistan especially right since his international debut. He has made key contributions in games where India have been staring down the barrel. India’s middle order lacks stability currently, his role becomes even more vital in this case.

PAK vs IND – Players to watch out for

#1 Babar Azam

The world’s number one ODI batter started the tournament with a big hundred. Babar Azam will look to stitch a series of good scores as the tournament nears the business end. He doesn’t have a single fifty plus score against India in 5 ODI innings so far. Babar will look to improve upon this statistic when he comes up against India in the Super 4 game. If he gets going, Pakistan will be well and truly in front.

#2 Rohit Sharma

Babar’s Indian counterpart, Rohit Sharma found some form in the game against Nepal. The Indian captain launched a calculated assault after looking edgy in the first over. He has a terrific ODI record against Pakistan in the last few years. India more often then not ends up on the winning side when Rohit strikes big. The fans will be keen for a Sharma special in this high-octane game.

PAK vs IND – Match prediction

The previous outing between the two teams ended in a stalemate due to rain. Pakistan’s pacers put on a sizzling show while India countered their spinners brilliantly. This sets up this match beautifully as there is a chance of them meeting once again in the finals.
