Why Afghanistan vs Pakistan ODI Series 2021 In Doubt

According to a report, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has earlier proposed the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) to host the ODI series in Pakistan. The ACB, on the other hand, did not accept the Pakistan board’s request. The ACB authorities expressed their opinions on the subject, stating that the series must be held in a neutral location. The Afghanistan men will travel to Pakistan by road and then fly to Sri Lanka through Dubai, as per the ACB’s program.

According to the PCB official, the series involving Pakistan and Afghanistan would be commenced in Sri Lanka from September (03rd – 09th). He also stated that the PCB expected to begin a pre-season ahead of the matchup from August 21 to August 28. He additionally said that the PCB had postponed the team decision and practice camp since the Afghanistan board has failed to fulfill its duty so far in this. “We do not want to incur additional expenses,” he had stated.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board has previously said that the three-match One-Day International series versus Pakistan will be played as scheduled. The board stated in an announcement that the country’s present political circumstances and changeover of administration will have no impact on the series versus neighboring countries.

“Taliban love cricket and they are supporting their team. Our ODI series against Pakistan will go as per schedule in Sri Lanka. After two days’ gap due to the current situation in the country, the training camp of the national team will resume tomorrow,” ACB CEO Hamid Shinwari had said.
