After winning the toss and opting to bowl, Karnataka faced the attack of the Haryana openers, who put up 64 runs within the power play. In the final over, however, Abhimanyu Mithun returned to take five wickets during his final over -in four consecutive balls, and the fifth off the final ball of the innings, ending with the first-ever five-wicket haul with every wicket coming in one over.
Karnataka Reach-In Finals
Chasing 195 to secure a spot in the final, Karnataka, led by Rahul, laid into the Haryana attack to launch an array of stokes. Rahul scored a fifty in 21 balls while Karnataka coasted to 82 runs in the power play with Rahul (66 off 31) and Padikkal (87 off 42) reaching half-centuries with a strike-rate of over 200. In the end, they were dismissed before Mayank Agarwal and Manish Pandey completed the formalities with five overs to spare. This led Karnataka into the final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which will be played on Sunday (December 1) against the winner of the second semi-final which is being played simultaneously (Tamil Nadu vs. Rajasthan).
