One Bad Game Doesn’t Make You A Bad Bowler: Tushar Deshpande

Tushar Deshpande, the former Delhi Capital bowler, said he was “disappointed” when the club opted not to keep him upfront for the IPL 2021 season. Deshpande has played 5 times for the Capitals, having 3 wickets. In his place, the club eventually preferred Ishant Sharma & Harshal Patel. Here is Why Delhi Capitals Released Tushar Deshpande.

Why Delhi Capitals Released Tushar Deshpande

Tushar Deshpande discussed his perspective playing for the Delhi Capitals in a video on the YouTube channel ‘Behind The Stumps with Anuj.’

“Yes, I was disheartened because I hadn’t done poorly to be released by the franchise. Even if you have had one bad game that doesn’t make you a bad bowler to be released. I have done well and I will do well in the domestic circuit”.

“So, I was disheartened but I picked myself up really well. The manager gave me a call that I was released from the team. But I was happy with whatever chances I got and am grateful for the opportunities Delhi Capitals gave me,” Tushar Deshpande stated.

It will be great to play with champion players: Deshpande

Deshpande, who will be a participant in the IPL super auction in 2022, has declared his wish to play for Mumbai Indians, the five-time winners. He believes that his previous experience in the league will help him stand out among bowlers who have yet to play in the IPL.

“It will be great if I play for the Mumbai Indians. Because playing for the home franchise and the history and the legacy that they have in the IPL after winning five trophies, it will be great to play with champion players. Rohit Bhai, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, anyone who has a champion mindset. So, it will be an honor to play for the Mumbai Indians,” Tushar Deshpande concluded.

After several incidences of Covid-19 were discovered within the bio-bubbles of 4 separate teams in 2 different locations, the BCCI and the IPL governing council were forced to postpone the competition. The league has been moved out of India because to the COVID issue and will resume on September 19 in the UAE.
