On This Day The God Of Cricket Played His Last ODI Match

Exactly eight years ago, on this day, i.e.,18/03/2021, the cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar played his last ODI match against Pakistan in the 2012 Asia Cup at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

In the last ODI match, Sachin Tendulkar had managed to score 52 runs while chasing Pakistan’s 330 series.

In 2012’s Asia Cup, Tendulkar registered his 100th ton in international cricket. He achieved the feat against Bangladesh.

Sachin Tendulkar had scored  34,357 across all formats and Kumar Sangakkara was placed in second place with the difference of 6000 runs.

The master blaster ended his career with 51 centuries in ODI’s while he had 49 in the most extended format of the game.

If we observe, Sachin Tendulkar is one of the greatest batsmen ever, he holds a record of the highest runs scorer in the International Cricket, having notched up 18,426 runs in ODIs and 15,921 runs in Test matches.

He said goodbye to test cricket on November 16, 2013, and he called time on his career after his 200th Test match.

Tendulkar was also the first cricketer to score a double century in the ODIs. Though it has been years that the Mumbai batsman has bid adieu to cricket, his contribution to the game makes him one of the greatest players on the international circuit.
