Now, Medical Committee Member Of BCCI Tests COVID-19 Positive

Ahead of IPL, now BCCI’s medical committee member tested COVID-19 positive:

It feels like IPL and BCCI are in grip of COVID-19. Last week 13 members of Chennai Super Kings including two players- Rutureaj Gaikwad and Deepak Chahar are tested coronavirus positive. Now, it is learned that one of the support staff of the Indian team, who is also the part of the medical committee of BCCI might have infected also.

Last week, the IPL had organized a webinar where the medical team members of BCCI have cleared out many doubts of cricket players and official members of the franchise on how to take safety protocols seriously in the bio-secure environment.

From the report, it is understood that many teams of IPL have been trying to consult with this medical officer but they have been told that the medical expert is unavailable at this time. Yet, it is not clear whether the officer is asymptomatic but as per the protocols of BCCI, he has been shifted to a different quarantine facility space already where he is self-isolating himself.

The IPL is scheduled to start from 19th September although the Indian cricket board, BCCI is yet to declare the full fixture.

Another coronavirus positive case will be added to the increasing worry among the players as it also comes on after the decision of Suresh Raina to pull out of the Indian Premier League because of some personal reasons.

Earlier this week, Josh Hazelwood, the bowler of Australia include in CSK team raised an alarm regarding the issue, said that the Australian players will take a final decision on whether to fly to the UAE after discussing with Cricket Australia.

On Wednesday, the concern of Hazelwood was listened by the captain of New Zealand, Kane Williamson even as he gets ready for his time with the Sunrisers Hyderabad. On Thursday (04-09-2020), he is planning to travel to the UAE.
