Smith Talks About Second Cycle Of WTC

Steven Smith recently went live on Instagram and had a Q/A session with fans. He answered few questions regarding cricketing topics. He invited all the questions for a timeframe from followers and Smith answered how excited he is for the upcoming WTC cycle.

“It is definitely a great addition to make the Test cricket more exciting, and I loved to be a part of it this time around. Congratulations to New Zealand for the title they thoroughly deserved to be the inaugural WTC champions. I am really excited for the second cycle and eagerly waiting to represent Australia in it and hopefully perform well.”

Steven Smith has cleared it out on how Test cricket is his main focus and he is looking forward to the upcoming Test matches. Ashes are nearing and Steven Smith will play an important role in the series which will help them gain points in the WTC points table.

Test cricket will be my main goal: Smith

Smith also added on his participation in the upcoming T20 world cup with respect to his injury. “There’s still a bit of time between now and [the T20 World Cup], and I’m tracking okay at the moment – it’s slow, but I’m going okay. I’d love to be part of the World Cup, for sure, but from my point of view, Test cricket, that’s my main goal – to be right for the Ashes and try to emulate what I’ve done in the last few Ashes series I’ve been involved in.”

Ashes will be played in December post-T20 world cup in Australia. Australia will be having an advantage of home and they will be looking forward to capitalize it and seize a series victory.
