New Zealand’s top cricketers will return to squad training:

After a long break from international cricket due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, finally, this week top cricketers of New Zealand will return to team training at the High-Performance Centre in Lincoln.

On Monday, a statement is released, in which New Zealand Cricket (NZC) declared that in the next few months, six numbers of national camps will be held. The release from NZC stated “The top cricketers of men and women team will get back to team training in Lincoln at the NZC High-Performance center this week. For the recent winter months, the first of six national camps scheduled.”

Furthermore, it added, “The Wellington and the South Island-based WHITE FERNS and BLACKCAPS will get cricket training at the Canterbury hub this week, while the second camp for cricketers further North will take place at Bay Oval from 19th July in Mount Maunganui.”

In Twitter handle:

Later the official Twitter handle of women’s team’s New Zealand uploaded pictures of players’ training in Lincoln. The Tweet stated “We are back now! In Lincoln, our 1st after lockdown camp is in progress. Players from @CanterburyCrick, @cricketwgtn, and @OtagoVolts are attending their first camp with @ndcricket, @aucklandcricket and@CDCricket players getting ready to attend a camp next week at @BayOvalOfficial #CricketNation.”

If we consider the impact of the coronavirus, New Zealand is the least affected country by the pandemic. New Zealand managed the situation quite well and keep the positive case count to a little more than 1500, involving over 1400 recoveries. In the country, the COVID-19 death toll stands at 22 at the current moment. International cricket has come towards the resumption with West Indies and England engaged in a Test series now. Australian cricketers are also planning to start training.
