He made waves when he went on to sign a deal worth Rs 100 crores in 1995 with WorldTel’s Mark Mascarenhas. A contract of this magnitude was unheard of in the 90s. But when Mascarenhas was asked isn’t that too much money to be paid to a professional cricketer? He replied that he has got a fabulous deal since Tendulkar will give him great returns.

Another cricketer who made a killing out of endorsements and to date remains a top favorite with advertisers is Mahendra Singh Dhoni. But not many know that Dhoni has to thank Tendulkar for this change in his fortunes. Since it was Tendulkar who suggested Dhoni’s name for captaincy when it came to leading the team in the inaugural T20 World Cup. Dhoni-led India to a great win and this led to a windfall in his career. He went on to sign numerous deals. He was a brand ambassador for many companies. There was no stopping brand Dhoni. He enjoys such popularity even to this day.

Net Worth of both the legends:

Sachin Tendulkar’s net worth is estimated to be around ₹1250 crores ($170 million approximately). Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s net worth on the other hand stands at approximately ₹826 crores ($110 million). Quite expectedly Sachin Tendulkar owns a bungalow in the prime location of Mumbai. The property is valued to be at around ₹35 crores ($502,285). 

While Dhoni on the other hand has built a self-designed bungalow in his hometown, Ranchi. The property is estimated to be valued at ₹7 crores ($1 million). Apart from this, he owns an apartment in Meyammai Towers, Chennai. This real estate deal cost him ₹16 crores ($2.4 million). The list doesn’t just end there. He owns a farmhouse called Kailashpati in Ranchi which is valued at Rs. 50 crores (7.6 million dollars)

Their love for cars and bikes:

Tendulkar owns a plethora of cars. BMW i8, BMW 7 Series, 730 D, you name the car, little master owns it. He even became the brand Ambassador of BMW cars. His other luxury cars include Nissan GTR, Benz E 63 AMG, Porsche Boxter, and Ferrari 360 Modena Spider. 

Dhoni is an avid bike lover and his taste in bikes reflects that. He owns a Harley Davidson Fatboy worth ₹17 lakhs ($26,010). He even owns a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 which costs a whopping ₹17.9 lakhs ($27,387). Add to the list a Ducati 1098 worth ₹25 lakhs (38,250 dollars). And a Confederate Hellcat X132 valued at ₹36 lakhs ($55,080). His bike love is endless. His valued possession is a GMC Sierra which costs ₹24 lakhs ($36,585). A Land Rover Freelancer 2 which costs a whopping ₹44 lakhs ($67,700). His two of the most expensive cars are Yellow Porsche 911 and Ferrari 599 GTO. They have priced at a mind-numbing ₹2.5 crores ($382,500) and ₹2.56 crore ($391,680) respectively.

Other investments and source of income:

Sachin Tendulkar approximately makes around ₹133 crores ($18 million) every year thanks to his line of endorsements. His net worth figure also includes the salary which he makes through endorsement deals. The brands with which Tendulkar was formerly associated were Boost, Pepsi, Sunfeast, and VISA. While currently, he is the face of brands such as BMW, SBI Mutual Funds, IDBI Life Insurance, Luminous, and Apollo Tyres. He also happens to be the owner of the popular 100MB app. This app curates content on his life in and out of cricket since his retirement. 

MS Dhoni is the co-owner of Chennaiyin FC, a football Club. He is also the co-owner of a Brand called Seven. An investment wherein he pumped over ₹200 crores (31 million dollars). He has also invested heavily in a 5-star hotel in Ranchi. This saw him putting in ₹300 crores (46 million dollars).
