Neil Wagner Registers His Name In Illustrious List With Grabbing 200 Test Wickets

On Saturday, the Left-arm bowler, Neil Wagner, becomes and registers his name to be the second-fastest New Zealand pacer to grab 200 Test wickets after Richard Hadlee. He has achieved this feat after taking the wicket of Steve Smith in Australia’s second innings of the ongoing second Test match that was being played between these two teams at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Previously Richard Hadlee has played 44 Tests to reach this 200 wicket of the milestone, the 33-year-old player, Neil Wagner, has reached this milestone in his 46th Test means almost 86th innings, registers his name in the top 20 fastest bowler all over the world.

Neil Wagner is followed by his teammate Trent Boult, who had achieved 200 wickets from 52 games while Tim Southee and former Kiwi all-rounder Chris Cairns had registered their names in this milestone in their 56th and 58th match respectively.

The 33-year-old player is also being the second-fastest left-arm bowler to achieve this milestone. Team India pacer, Ravindra Jadeja, holds the position as he has previously taken 44 Tests to take 200 wickets.

Presently, Neil Wagner is dominating the chart for being the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing match series between both the teams, Team Australia and New Zealand Team with 13 wickets which have got him to be in the third spot in ICC Test Rankings.

The New Zealand Team is currently on the back foot in the ongoing Boxing series Day Test as Australia lead by 456 runs. The hosts were 137/4 in their second innings and have their total control in the match. They have already lead the three-match series 1-0, by winning the first Test in Perth by 296 runs.
